As part of Times Square Art’s presentation of Kehinde Wiley’s Rumors of War,  Lohar Projects was contracted to develop pilot engagement intiatives around this monumental new work.  In addition to outreach and tours, Lohar Projects developed the program’s first Public Art Ambassador team, a group of trained facilitators stationed on Duffy Plaza in Times Square to engage with the public about art. The ambassadors teams comprised of artists, educators, and Time Square’s Public Safety Officers. Together the group offered converastions in 4 languages and faciliated on-the-ground dialogs and an interactive response station.  Lohar Projects also piloted a series of group public tours and an on-site response wall for visitors to share their ideas about the work.

Following its debut in Times Square, Rumors of War was purchased by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.  Lohar Projects traveled to Richmond to train the museum guides in advance of the opening.
