Artists Experiment

The Museum of Modern Art
2012-2016

Artists Experiment was an annual initiative in the Department of Education at The Museum of Modern Art that brings together contemporary artists in dialogue with MoMA educators to conceptualize ideas for developing innovative and experimental public interactions. Each artist collaborates with the Museum over the course of one or two years to develop and actualize programs and projects. This initiative aims to situate MoMA as a laboratory for experimentation with public engagement, addressing the Museum, its public, and contemporary art practice.

Since its inception in 2012, I led the development of this project with Pablo Helguera and served as the primary collaborator with each artist to conceptualize and produce public projects and programs. I oversaw all content and media production and served as project manager for a cross departmental team at the museum for this intiative. During my tenure, I completed projects with artists Raul Cardenas (Torolab), Caroline Woolard, Xaviera Simmons, Allison Smith, Paul Ramirez Jonas, The Office for Creative Research, and Nina Katchadourian.
