Fact Craft

June 2017 - November 2017
Pioneer Works

Fact Craft was a collaborative, cross-disciplinary program series that examining the ways “facts” are constructed, crafted, presented and disseminated. Each program invites a guest to facilitate a group action that intervenes in, questions, or subverts systems of ‘fact craft’ across disciplines. These actions address oppressive cultural systems by generating alternatives and jamming existing ones. Fact Craft programming includes workshops, dialogues, Second Sunday interventions, and Study Hall hours. During Study Hall, interested participants meet and collaborate on their own actions and have access to related resources. The series culminated on November 18, 2017 with a celebratory public event that includes presentations of participant projects and features a conversation between artist and activists Noah Fischer and Coco Fusco.

Project Team: Sheetal Prajapati (program director) with Katie Gritilian and Rachel Haberstroh as lead programmers and design by Allyn Hughes. Rachel and Katie conceived of the original series concept.
